Holstead Knife Sets

Engineered for
Real Independence

Two blade options. Built-in safety features. A system thoughtfully designed to reduce barriers — not just make cooking faster.

One Board. Two Blades.
Your Choice.

Holstead's rocking knife system comes in two edge options — each designed for a different setting, a different user, and a different need. No guessing. No compromising.

Holstead Sharp Set — curved rocker knife for one-handed meal prep Sharp Set

The Sharp Set

A curved blade and ergonomic grip built for a fast, controlled rocking motion. Strong enough to handle nearly any food — from dense proteins to whole fruits — and optimized for one-handed use where speed and confidence matter most.

Best for: confident adults, home kitchens, caregivers, clinicians who need a full-range cutting tool with a low-compensation grip.

Holstead Safety Set — reduced-edge knife for supervised or independent use Safety Set

The Safety Set

An edge engineered to cut food, not skin. The downward rocking motion does the work, making it well-suited for therapy settings, school programs, and any environment where a child or adult is building independence with less supervision.

Note: Sharper than a butter knife but safer than a steak knife. Handles most foods well; a sharp knife may be needed for tougher peels or skins.

Built for the Way
Real Prep Happens

Every detail of the board system was designed to reduce compensation, minimize mess, and put more control back in the hands of the person doing the cooking.

Holstead cutting board with non-slip silicone feet and concave center

Concave Board with Non-Slip Stability

The board's concave center keeps food from sliding — no chasing, no bracing, no second hand required. Non-slip silicone feet anchor the board to any surface so the user can focus entirely on the cut.

Molded from FDA-compliant polypropylene in the USA. The Chop 'n Pop silicone insert delivers a microplastic-free cutting surface that's both dishwasher-safe and microwave-safe.

Built-in measurement circles and ruler on the Holstead cutting board

Measurement Circles for Safe, Consistent Prep

Three labeled prep circles — minced, diced, and chopped — are built directly into the board to guide bite-size decisions without guessing. A built-in ruler adds a quick visual reference for portion control.

The largest circle (½ inch) aligns with AAP guidelines for maximum bite size in young children, giving caregivers and clinicians a reliable reference point built right into the tool.

Holstead prep pocket for storing cut food on the board

Built-in Prep Pocket

Cut directly into the integrated pocket — no bowl, no plate, no extra transfer step. The pocket corrals every piece after the cut and can even separate foods, turning the board into a compact serving tray when needed.

Fewer steps between prep and table means less fatigue, fewer dropped pieces, and a more dignified experience from start to finish.

Designed Around Safety.
Not Just Assumed.

Every Holstead product goes through intentional safety review. The blade system, measurement tools, and board geometry all work together to reduce the most common prep risks — not paper over them.

We recommend reviewing Our Thoughts on Safety for additional guidance on choking prevention and safe food sizing — especially for Baby-Led Weaning practices.

  • Non-slip feet prevent board movement during cutting
  • Safety edge optimized to cut food, not skin
  • AAP-aligned portion circles built into the board
  • Concave surface reduces food scatter and chasing

  • All components are dishwasher-safe for consistent hygiene

From Setup to Table
in Four Steps

1

Place the Board

Set the board on any flat surface. The silicone feet grip and hold — no sliding, no bracing, no extra setup required.

2

Choose Your Blade

Select the Sharp or Safety set based on the user, setting, and/or food. Both attach securely to the same board system.

3

Rock to Cut

Use a controlled rocking motion — power grip, blade on food. The concave board keeps everything in place while you work.

4

Serve or Store

Collect pieces in the prep pocket. Use the board as a tray, separate by food group, or transfer using the silicone insert.

One Tool.
Real Difference.

Holstead products are available through our sister brand, Totchop, and on Amazon. No subscription, no setup — just a well-built tool that works from day one.
